SCOUTS MERIT BADGE PROGRAM

HORSEMANSHIP MINI-LESSON FOR SCOUTS

THE MINI-LESSON IS A “HANDS-ON” LEARNING SESSION WHICH BUILDS CONFIDENCE AND KNOWLEDGE AROUND HORSES.  TOPICS INCLUDE TACK & EQUIPMENT, APPROACH AND FORMING A UNION, BODY LANGUAGE, SAFETY & HANDLING, CARE, GROOMING, SADDLING & RIDE PREPARATION, MOUNTING & DISMOUNTING, REINING TECHNIQUES, POSTURE, HAND, LEG & VOICE COMMANDS, EXERCISES, AND OTHER AREAS OF HORSEMANSHIP.

The Horsemanship Mini-Lesson is a half-hour in length and gives a
broad overview of some topics mentioned above.  Combined with one of our
Riding Packages (see below), your group will have the opportunity the ride Ponies or
Horses and learn a little about them.   Come on out and Horse Around!

Rates: (for horsemanship mini-lesson only)
Groups of 10 or more participants:  $ 6 each
Groups of 6 to 9 participants:           $ 8 each

HORSE & PONY RIDING PACKAGES  (add a Riding Package below to make a total Horse Experience for your group!)

RIDING PACKAGE #1 (accommodates 6 to 12 children)       $190-
    2 PONIES/HORSES for one hour of hand-led rides.

RIDING PACKAGE #2 (accommodates 6 to 15 children)        $210-
    3 PONIES/HORSES for one hour of hand-led rides.

    4 PONIES/HORSES for one hour of hand-led rides.

    5 PONIES/HORSES for one hour of hand-led rides.

All packages above include use of the picnic area for one hour after the riding time.
The Riding Packages above offer hand-led rides (we provide the walkers).   Add $25.00 to the Riding Package price if you’d like
the group to ride (not hand-led) in our riding ring with instructor assistance (for ages 9+ only & with package #2, #3, or #4 only).
Groups with youths ages 11+ may go on Horseback Trail Rides after the mini-lesson at the current advertised rates.
